Does it have NIV, NASB or NLT?
- So you want the NIV, NASB, NLV, etc. for a low price. Well, I do have the NASB on this product. But for the other modern day translations, I have both good and bad news.
- BAD NEWS: Unfortunately, these bible translations have copyrights and require software authors like me to pay high royalties if I wish to offer them. This makes it very difficult for me to offer many of them on my software. BUT, I do have some good news!
- GOOD NEWS: I have included the NASB on this software, unlocked, no gimmicks. Second, , I have found an up-to-date new translation, The World English Bible, that is very similar to the modern english translations of today (NIV, NASB, NKJV). Consider the following passage (Romans 6:1-7) in various translations:
- New International Version (NIV)
What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin-- because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.
- New American Standard (NASB)
What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace might increase? May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, that our body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin; for he who has died is freed from sin.
- World English Bible (WEB)
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? May it never be! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer? Or don't you know that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him through baptism to death, that just like Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life. For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrection; knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin.
- King James Version (KJV)
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.
- CONCLUSION: Are you surprised that the World English Bible (WEB) reads more like the NIV or NASB as opposed to the KJV? Why not try the WEB instead of the NIV, New Living, etc? We have included this excellent Bible and the NASB totally unlocked on Verse Master!
