3M 06298 19 mm x 35 m Soft Edge Foam Masking Tape: Automotive. Soft Edge Tape consists of a length of very flexible, round polyurethane foam with a rubber-based adhesive on one side. As opposed to the hard, sharp line produced by standard masking tapes, this round, foam masking tape is ideal for producing a soft paint edge on a surface where you are painting up to a previously painted area. Although it has many uses, Soft Edge Masking Tape is specifically designed to temporarily maskseal the gaps around car doors and hoods as they are being painted.
