Hypertech 4054 Power Coil Kit with Performance Ignition Coil, Cap and Rotor: Automotive. When they are used in street or slightly modified engines, Power Coils are capable of firing the engine up to 7000 RPM without a drop off in power as rpm increase. This Hypertech Power Coil Kit includes the ignition coil, cap, and rotor. Hypertech Power Coils average between 45,000 and 55,000 volts, which is significantly higher than the average stock voltage of approximately 36,000 volts. Working in combination with your spark plugs, the higher energy allows for fatter, hotter sparks to improve the fuel burn in the engine's combustion chambers, which can increase horsepower and sometimes increase the gas mileage. The cap in this kit is made from a high dielectric material to prevent carbon tracking, and fits the distributor housing tightly to eliminate leakage, while the rotor features nylon hold-down screws to help prevent misfires.
