Product Description
Wool shoulder bag, Inca Homeland: Home & Kitchen. My motivation is my desire to help the talented people in these communities. NOVICA, in association with National Geographic, searches the world to work directly with the finest artisan designers. This colorful shoulder bag by Diego Martos was inspired by the pouches carried by chaskis - Inca messengers. They traveled throughout the empire by foot, a precursor of today's postal workers. The handsome wool tote is reversible. Artisan Info: Buenos dias. I'm Diego Javier Martos Ugaz and I was born in Lima on March 13, 1975. I studied business administration for three years at the Instituto Peruano de Administracion. After I graduated, I tried to live one day at a time without falling into a routine. I'm a fair person and I don't like discrimination. For this reason, I had an idea of helping people. I traveled a great deal to small towns and villages filled with the art and handicrafts of Peru. I like this very much and find it exciting. My path in life continued on its course and I began the wonderful task of working with these people whose needs are sometimes great. I take them my designs and suggest my ideas. But we're really an amazing team because, together, we achieve the pieces we are seeking, both in my styles and designs and their crafting and finishing of each one. I've been doing this now since 2004. I'd describe my work as something innovative. I work a lot with craftspeople in Cajamarca, and strive to transmit color and life through every thread in every textile.
