Product Description
Hanna Instruments HI 96812 Digital Refractometer, with Baum Scale: Industrial & Scientific. These measurements fill different food industry requirements. The HI 96812 is a portable, water resistant digital wine refractometer that is based on the measurement of the refractive index of grapes and other samples, and is suitable for field or lab use. Samples are measured in units of Baume after a simple user calibration with deionized or distilled water and provides a standard, accepted method for sugar content analysis. The meter features Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC) between 10 and 40 degrees C (50 – 104 degrees F). Measurements and temperature (in C and F) are displayed simultaneously on a large, dual-level LCD screen within 1.5 seconds and help eliminate the uncertainty associated with mechanical refractometers. Auto-shut off feature turns the meter off automatically after three minutes of non use. Range is 0 to 28 ° Baume; 0 to 80 degrees C/32 to 176 degrees F, + or – 0.1 ° Baume; + or - 0.3 degrees C/0.5 degrees F, with a resolution of 0.1 ° Baume; 0.1 degrees C (0.1 degrees F). The device operates on a 9V battery. Dimensions are 19.2 x 10.2 x 6.7 cm, and weighs 420 g. Wine refractometers measure the sugar content of grapes and other samples in the field or winery using the measurement of the refractive index, which provides the user a standard, accepted method for sugar content analysis. The meters are commonly used by vinters, researchers, and individuals. Hanna Instruments manufactures analytical instrumentation and supplies, including pH meters, electrodes, chemical reagents, and buffer solutions.
