The Tyrol line, released in 2007, adopts an intermediary position between the completely stemless O wine tumblers that set a national trend and Riedel's long-stemmed, more fragile beauties. Each Tyrol glass features a short stem, more of a foot really, that is half of a solid sphere, lending great stability and reducing breakage worries. Crafted of sparkling leaded crystal yet dishwasher-safe, Tyrol is perfect for a casual, more contemporary approach to fine dining at home. This set includes two Tyrol Pop glasses, each with a maximum capacity of 19-3/4 ounces and measuring 5-1/8 inches in height. The Pop glass is slightly taller than the On the Rocks glass and although not quite as wide, it also features a broad rim that allows for the easy addition of ice cubes to tea, soda, sparkling water, or a cocktail. Out of a long 250-year history, the renowned Riedel glass company has been based in the Austrian state of Tyrol for 50 years now, hence the commemorative name of the new collection.
