The Siphontap is a handy tool that is truly multi-purpose. While racking the cooled wort from your boil kettle to your primary fermenter, the Siphontap strains out a lot of the trub and hop sediment. After the siphoning is complete, there will be just enough wort left in the Siphontap to take your starting hydrometer reading.
