Product Description
Thermo Scientific Orion Glass Body Micro pH Electrode, with 40mm Stainless Steel Tip, 0 to 14 pH (Pack of 100): Industrial & Scientific. They are often constructed of glass, which senses hydrogen ions, and generates a millivoltage that is picked up by the filling solution and transferred to a wire that connects to the pH meter. The Thermo Scientific Orion 9863BN combination, refillable glass body pH electrode with needle tip has a stainless steel micro tip for piercing septa, a silver/silver chloride (Ag/AgCl) reference, a ceramic junction, 0 to 14 pH range, and a Bayonet Neill-Concelman (BNC) connector. The micro tip allows for use with small samples and test tubes. Glass body electrodes are useful in highly corrosive environments where epoxy could be corroded, or around proteins and other compounds with high surface tension. The electrode has a small hole for refilling the Ag/AgCl electrolyte, which prolongs the life of the electrode, and provides less noise (unwanted voltages) than gold or silver electrodes. This electrode is frequently used for testing very small samples. pH range is 0 to 14 (+ or - 0.02 pH), temperature range is 0 to 80 degrees C (32 to 176 degrees F), and body dimensions are 137 mm (length) x 7.6 mm (diameter); tip dimensions are 40 mm (length) x 1.7 mm (diameter). Minimum depth of immersion is 3 mm. The electrode uses 4M KCl fill solution (Orion 900011). Buffer and storage solutions are sold separately. This electrode has a six month warranty. pH electrodes are used in pH meters and testers to measure the acidity or alkalinity of a substance. Thermo Fisher Scientific manufactures analytical instruments, laboratory equipment, consumables, and software under the Thermo Scientific and Fisher Scientific brands, among others.
