Twin Size Bed Slats Support - Bunkie Board: Home & Kitchen. Place them under your mattress on the bed frame and you are ready to go. ATTENTION: Our new shipment of slats are made of harder plywood. These have 13 slats that are 2 1/4 inch wide and are spaced 3 inch apart from one another. The slats are attached by 3/4 inch wide BLACK straps. Bed slats eliminate the need for a link spring or box spring! They provide support so that you can use a regular mattress on a twin size bed rather than having to use a specific bed mattress. The slats are 39 inch (give or take 1/16) wide are attached to each other out to 72 inch in length.
