Civil War Santa Chalkware Figure: Home & Kitchen. The origin of the antique mold for this figure is unknown. The art of creating chalkware figures is centuries-old. Nearby artisans, Gary and Judi Vaillancourt, have collected over 2,000 antique chocolate and ice cream molds, which they use to cast their wonderful collection of chalkware figures. It is hand painted and finished in a process that takes about three weeks. Civil War Santa figure measures 6 1/4 inch high.
