Hence Kalamkari is a laborious and time consuming process. The Masulipatnam style of Kalamkari usually has delicate Persian motifs like trees, creepers, flowers and leaves. There's a definite Dutch influence which may be traced back to the the nineteenth century when there was great demand for Kalamkari from Europe.
