La Crosse Technology The Weather Channel WS-1510TWC Professional Weather Center: Home & Kitchen. The weather center requires the separate purchase of five AA and two AAA batteries. Find out how fast and which way the wind is blowing before going to fly a kite with this wireless professional weather center from La Crosse Technology and The Weather Channel. Complete with wind, rain, temperature, humidity, and air pressure measurements, the WS-1510TWC weather center predicts shifts in the weather and also holds up to 140 sets of weather data, with minimum and maximum temperature, humidity, and air pressure recordings every 3 hours. The silver-framed receiver mounts on a wall or stands alone. On its eight-level contrast LCD, the receiver displays the time in 12- or 24-hour format, date, indoor temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius degrees, and current outdoor conditions and forecast. A compass with sixteen notations reveals the wind direction; wind speed is posted in the compass center. Based on barometric pressure readings and temperature, three sky condition icons and a tendency arrow indicate the forecast. The receiver also features a 12-hour barometric pressure history graph, total and 24-hour rainfall measurements, and user-selectable alarms for to warn of storms and alert of high winds, temperatures, and more. Five function buttons allow manual time and date setting, alarm setting, engaging the EL backlight, viewing MIN/MAX readings, and changing display options. To assess outdoor conditions, a wireless thermo-hygro sensor measures temperatures from -40.8 to 139.8 degrees F and relative humidity from 1 to 99 percent. A wireless self-emptying rain bucket assesses rainfall. Both wireless sensors communicate with the receiver from up to 330 feet unobstructed. For wind analysis, a wind sensor connects to the thermo-hygro sensor for data transmission and power. A one-year warranty covers this item.
