The border depicts a time of prosperity in the life of Man Singh whom was some what of a Robin Hood in several Indian provinces south of New Delhi in the early 1900's. The block printed pattern was created using a technique by which carved wooden blocks covered with dye are repeatedly pressed along a length of cloth to create a repeated pattern. What makes this technique unique is the fact that the design is executed by hand onto the fabric. A lovely quality with endless versatility.
