R.H. Peterson LF-5 Lava-Fyre Granules - No particular finish: Home & Kitchen. A 5 lb bag is typically enough for a small fireplace. 5lb bag of Lava-Fyre granules. Lava-Fyre granules are small pieces of lava rock (about 1/4 inch to 1/2) that are used to spread around the floor of the fireplace to fill in the empty space in front of and around the glowing embers and burner. This gives the gas log installation a more refined and finished look. For average fireplaces, use LF-10 (10lb bag).
