Product Description
Waterford Crystal Meridian Small Clock: Home & Kitchen. The clock measures 2 inches across each cube face and, because of the tilt, 4 inches tall; the clock face is 1-3/4 inches in diameter. This unusual little table clock--only four inches tall--is one of Waterford's more modern designs. Waterford has been making renowned crystal pieces for more than 200 years, and their artisans continue to search for new inspirations. This clock and the other Meridian pieces, which include a conical bowl and a pair of tall, pyramidal candlesticks, seem to blend simple geometry with ancient architectural sensibilities. The Meridian clock is a cube, two inches square on each side, but rather than sit flat on one side, it is tilted back and rests on one truncated corner, so the entire cube is at a diagonal angle to the surface it rests on; it is a pleasantly disorienting effect. The cube face in which the round timepiece is centered is clear, as are the two peaked sides above the timepiece. The back and bottom sides are combed upwards with elongated wedge cuts, which lends the cube an aspect of solar rays. The 1-3/4-inch round clock face indicates the time with slender black hour, minute, and second hands and black Roman numerals in a classic typeface. To preserve its clarity, remove the timepiece and wash the clock's crystal body with a mild liquid soap and warm (not hot) water; do not wash in dishwasher as this may permanently etch surface of crystal. Certain water may leave a lime or mineral deposit on the crystal; if that happens, vinegar on a soft, nonabrasive cloth will help remove the deposit. Polish with a lint-free cloth. Crystal can focus sunlight into a concentrated beam that could potentially scorch rugs or furniture, so do not store or display in direct sunlight. One 375-type battery is included, as are instructions for activating the clock.
