With animals we go by \""kind\"" rather than \""species\"" so you would only need about 14,000 \""kinds\"" of animals on the ark.. Some say 14,000 to 30,000.. Lets say in the middle 24,000. Do you need to take full sized? Well obviously not full sized.. Assuming the average consumption was equal to a full grown human, we are talking.. 3 pounds of food a day.. 375 days the ark was on the water.. THATS 27 MILLION POUNDS of food.. Is that a lot? Well the standard \""Cargo Ship\"" from aroun the same size can carry 3,000 TEU(containers).. And each container weighs about 50,000 pounds potentially.. That is about 150 MILLION POUNDS.. So.. Lets see..
So, if each passenger was 1000 pounds.. And there were 24,000 of them, that is 24 million pounds.. So we have ONLY 50 MILLION POUNDS.. When the same sized \""container carrier\"" today can HOLD 150 MILLION POUNDS..
We are 1/3 the capacity of a modern day container carrier in the Ark's haul.
