Topic VIII.

If any one affirms that Christ is perfect man and also God the Word in the way of separation,⁴⁰⁹

⁴⁰⁹ διαιρετῶς.
and refuses to acknowledge the one Lord Jesus Christ, even as it is written, let him be anathema.

Explication.

How could one say that Christ is perfect man and also God the Word in the way of separation, when the Lord Himself says, “Why seek ye to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God?”⁴¹⁰
