SEV Biblia, Chapter 21:25
Y sus puertas nunca sern cerradas de día, porque allí no habr noche.
Clarke's Bible Commentary - Revelation 21:25
Verse 25. The gates of it shall not be shut at all] The Christian Church shall ever stand open to receive sinners of all sorts, degrees, and nations. There shall be no night there.] No more idolatry, no intellectual darkness; the Scriptures shall be everywhere read, the pure word everywhere preached, and the Spirit of God shall shine and work in every heart.
John Gill's Bible Commentary
Ver. 25. And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day , etc.] Which does not design the free communication between the living saints on the new earth, and the raised ones in the new heaven, as some have thought, for these shall be together, and make up one body; but rather the universal collection, and free admission of all the saints from all parts into this city; though it seems best to interpret it of the safety of the inhabitants, (see Jeremiah 49:31) who will have no enemy to fear, and therefore need never shut their gates; the beast and false prophet will have been taken, and cast into the lake of fire long ago; ungodly men will be destroyed in the general conflagration, and Satan will be bound in the bottomless pit during the thousand years: for there shall be no night there ; this is a reason given why it is before said the gates shall not be shut by day, since it is unusual to shut gates in the day, unless in time of war, because there will be no night in this city, and so no need of ever shutting the gates; the night time being the season for thieves and robbers, and for enemies to make their incursions, and to surprise: but here will be no night; either literally, times and seasons, as measured by the revolutions of the sun and moon, will be no more, they will not have the use they have; at least this city will stand in no need of them. The Jews say f485 , that the world to come will be wy wlwk , all day: or mystically and figuratively, there will be no night of spiritual darkness and desertion, of drowsiness, sleepiness, and inactivity, of error and heresy, or of calamity and distress of any kind; all which are sometimes signified by night in Scripture; (see Song of Solomon 3:1 Matthew 25:5,6) ( Isaiah 26:9).
Matthew Henry Commentary
Verses 22-27 - Perfect and direct communion with God, will more than supply the plac of gospel institutions. And what words can more full express the unio and co-equality of the Son with the Father, in the Godhead? What dismal world would this be, if it were not for the light of the sun What is there in heaven that supplies its place? The glory of God lightens that city, and the Lamb is the Light thereof. God in Chris will be an everlasting Fountain of knowledge and joy to the saints in heaven. There is no night, therefore no need of shutting the gates; all is at peace and secure. The whole shows us that we should be more an more led to think of heaven as filled with the glory of God, an enlightened by the presence of the Lord Jesus. Nothing sinful of unclean, idolatrous, or false and deceitful, can enter. All the inhabitants are made perfect in holiness. Now the saints feel a sad mixture of corruption, which hinders them in the service of God, an interrupts their communion with him; but, at their entrance into the holy of holies, they are washed in the laver of Christ's blood, an presented to the Father without spot. None are admitted into heaven wh work abominations. It is free from hypocrites, such as make lies. A nothing unclean can enter heaven, let us be stirred up by thes glimpses of heavenly things, to use all diligence, and to perfec holiness in the fear of God __________________________________________________________________
