And I said unto them, Ye are holy unto the LORD; the vessels are holy also; and the silver and the gold are a freewill offering unto the LORD God of your fathers.

World English Bible

I said to them, "You are holy to Yahweh, and the vessels are holy; and the silver and the gold are a freewill offering to Yahweh, the God of your fathers.

John Gill's Bible Commentary

Ver. 28. And I said unto them, ye are holy unto the Lord, the vessels are holy also , etc.] As they were dedicated and set apart to holy service, so the vessels were sacred to holy uses, and therefore not to be converted to any other: and the silver and the gold are a freewill offering unto the Lord God of your fathers : and therefore not to be made use of but in his service.

Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 24-30 - Do we expect that God should, by his providence, keep that whic belongs to us, let us, by his grace, keep that which belongs to him Let God's honour and interest be our care; and then we may expect tha our lives and comforts will be his.
