SEV Biblia, Chapter 6:17

Metieron, pues, el arca del SEÑOR, y la pusieron en su lugar en medio de una tienda que David le había tendido; y sacrificó David holocaustos y pacíficos delante del SEÑOR.

John Gill's Bible Commentary

Ver. 17. And they brought in the
ark of the Lord , etc.] Into the city of David, the strong hold of Zion: and set it in his place, in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it : or “stretched out”; for this was not the tabernacle of Moses, David pitched any where; that was at this time at Gibeon, where it continued to the time of Solomon, ( 1 Chronicles 21:29 2 Chronicles 1:3,4); but this was a curtain, or curtains, which he had stretched out or drawn around for the ark to be pitched in the midst of; and this was not in his own house, for he is afterwards said to go to that, but somewhere in Jerusalem or the city of David: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord ; that is, before the ark, and that by way of thanksgiving for its being brought safe thither, without any error or mistake on the side of him, the Levites, and the people, and without offence to God, and any mark of his displeasure as before. This must be supposed to be done by priests, and not by David himself, who was no priest.

Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 12-19 - It became evident, that
happy was the man who had the ark near him Christ is indeed a Stone of stumbling, and a Rock of offence, to thos that are disobedient; but to those that believe, he is a Corner-stone elect, precious, 1Pe 2:6-8. Let us be religious. Is the ark a blessin to others' houses? We may have it, and the blessing of it, withou fetching it away from our neighbours. David, at first setting out offered sacrifices to God. We are likely to speed in our enterprises when we begin with God, and give diligence to seek peace with him. An we are so unworthy, and our services are so defiled, that all our jo in God must be connected with repentance and faith in the Redeemer' atoning blood. David attended with high expressions of joy. We ought to serve God with our whole body and soul, and with every endowment an power we possess. On this occasion David laid aside his royal robes and put on a plain linen dress. David prayed with and for the people and as a prophet, solemnly blessed them in the name of the Lord.
