SEV Biblia, Chapter 23:25
Y pondré mi celo contra ti, y obrarán contigo con furor; te quitarán tu nariz y tus orejas; y lo que te quedare caerá a cuchillo. Ellos tomarán tus hijos y tus hijas, y tu remanente será consumido por el fuego.
Clarke's Bible Commentary - Ezekiel 23:25
Verse 25. Shall take away thy nose] A punishment frequent among the Persians and Chaldeans, as ancient authors tell. Adulteries were punished in this way; and to this Martial refers:- Quis tibi persuasit nares abscindere moecho? "Who has counselled thee to cut off the adulterer's nose?" Women were thus treated in Egypt. See Calmet.
Matthew Henry Commentary
A history of the apostacy of God's people from him, and the aggravatio thereof. In this parable, Samaria and Israel bear the name Aholah, "her ow tabernacle;" because the places of worship those kingdoms had, were of their own devising. Jerusalem and Judah bear the name of Aholibah, "m tabernacle is in her," because their temple was the place which God himself had chosen, to put his name there. The language and figures ar according to those times. Will not such humbling representations of nature keep open perpetual repentance and sorrow in the soul, hidin pride from our eyes, and taking us from self-righteousness? Will it no also prompt the soul to look to God continually for grace, that by his Holy Spirit we may mortify the deeds of the body, and live in holy conversation and godliness __________________________________________________________________
