SEV Biblia, Chapter 25:14
Y pondré mi venganza en Edom por la mano de mi pueblo Israel; y harán en Edom según mi enojo y según mi ira; y conocerán mi venganza, dijo el Señor DIOS.
Clarke's Bible Commentary - Ezekiel 25:14
Verse 14. I will lay my vengeance upon Edom] God will not allow men to insult those whom he has cast down. His judgment is sufficient; to add more is an insult to God. By the hand of may people Israel] This was fulfilled by the Maccabees, who not only defeated them and brought them under complete subjection, but obliged them to receive circumcision, Joseph. Matthew Henry Commentary
Judgments against the Ammonites. (Ezek. 25:1-7) Against the Moabites Edomites, and Philistines. (Ezek. 25:8-17)
Ezek. 25:1-7. It is wicked to be glad at the calamities of any especially of God's people; it is a sin for which he will surel reckon. God will make it appear that he is the God of Israel, though he suffers them for a time to be captives in Babylon. It is better to know Him, and to be poor, than to be rich and ignorant of him.
Ezek. 25:8-17 Though one event seem to the righteous and wicked, it is vastly different. Those who glory in any other defence and protectio than the Divine power, providence, and promise, will, sooner or later be ashamed of their glorying. Those who will not leave it to God to take vengeance for them, may expect that he will take vengeance of them. The equity of the Lord's judgments is to be observed, when he no only avenges injuries upon those that did them, but by those agains whom they were done. Those who treasure up old hatred, and watch for the opportunity of manifesting it, are treasuring up for themselve wrath against the day of wrath __________________________________________________________________
