SEV Biblia, Chapter 1:20
Y dieron Hebrón a Caleb, como Moisés había dicho; y él echó de allí tres hijos de Anac.
Clarke's Bible Commentary - Judges 1:20
Verse 20. They gave Hebron unto Caleb] See this whole transaction explained Josh. xiv. 12, &c.
John Gill's Bible Commentary
Ver. 20. And they gave Hebron unto Caleb, as Moses said , etc.] Which was done in the times of Joshua, both by him and all the people, according to the order of Moses. This is to be understood not of the city which was given to the Levites, but of the fields and parts adjacent, ( Joshua 14:13 21:11,12); and he expelled thence the three sons of Anak : whose names are given ( Judges 1:10); this shows that this refers to the same expedition as in ( Joshua 15:14); and is expressed in the same manner.
Matthew Henry Commentary
Verses 9-20 - The Canaanites had iron chariots; but Israel had God on their side whose chariots are thousands of angels, Ps 68:17. Yet they suffere their fears to prevail against their faith. About Caleb we read in Jo 15:16-19. The Kenites had settled in the land. Israel let them fi where they pleased, being a quiet, contented people. They that moleste none, were molested by none. Blessed are the meek, for they shal inherit the earth.
