Douay Rheims Bible Said to them: We are unclean by occasion of the soul of a man. Why are we kept back that we may not offer in its season the offering to the Lord among the children of Israel?
King James Bible - Numbers 9:7 And those men said unto him, We are defiled by the dead body of a man: wherefore are we kept back, that we may not offer an offering of the LORD in his appointed season among the children of Israel?

Early Christian Commentary - (A.D. 100 - A.D. 325) Anf-03 v.iv.vi.vii Pg 20 Ex. xii. Why does (the apostle) clothe us and Christ with symbols of the Creator’s solemn rites, unless they had relation to ourselves? When, again, he warns us against fornication, he reveals the resurrection of the flesh. “The body,” says he, “is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body,”5490 5490 Anf-03 v.iv.vi.vii Pg 20 Ex. xii.
