Por sus pecados que él había cometido, haciendo lo malo a los ojos del SEÑOR, y andando en los caminos de Jeroboam, y en su pecado que cometió, haciendo pecar a Israel.

Ver. 19. For his sins which he sinned in doing evil in the sight of the Lord , etc.] In the former part of his life, as well as now: in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did to make Israel sin ; worshipping the golden calves, which he might do while a captain of the chariots, and also since he usurped the crown, sacrificing to them by way of thanksgiving, for being in possession of the kingdom; and though his reign was so short, he might give plain and strong intimations that he should continue the worship of idols.

Verses 15-28 - When men forsake God, they will be left to plague one another. Prou aspiring men ruin one another. Omri struggled with Tibni some years Though we do not always understand the rules by which God govern nations and individuals in his providence, we may learn useful lesson from the history before us. When tyrants succeed each other, an massacres, conspiracies, and civil wars, we may be sure the Lord has controversy with the people for their sins; they are loudly called to repent and reform. Omri made himself infamous by his wickedness. Man wicked men have been men of might and renown; have built cities, an their names are found in history; but they have no name in the book of life.
