SEV Biblia, Chapter 1:2 Y llamó Salomón a todo Israel, tribunos, centuriones, y jueces, y a todos los príncipes de todo Israel, cabezas de familias.
Clarke's Bible Commentary - 2 Chronicles 1:2 Verse 2. Then Solomon spake] This is supposed to have taken place in the second year of his reign.
John Gill's Bible Commentary Ver. 2. Then Solomon spake unto all Israel , etc.] To their representatives about going to Gibeon to sacrifice, as the next words show: so Jarchi and Kimchi observe: to the captains of thousands, and of hundreds, to the judges, and to every governor in all Israel, the chief of the fathers ; whom he had convened on this occasion; though some think this is the same congregation gathered by his father, by whom he was anointed and made king, and that he spoke of this to them before they broke up, ( 1 Chronicles 28:1 29:22) which seems not so probable, since it was after the death of his father, after he had been king some time, and even after his marriage with Pharaoh’s daughter, that what follows was done, (see 1 Kings 3:1-4).
Matthew Henry Commentary Solomon's message to Huram respecting the temple, His treaty with Huram. --Solomon informs Huram of the particular services to be performed in the temple. The mysteries of the true religion, unlike those of the Gentile superstitions, sought not concealment. Solomon endeavoured to possess Huram with great and high thoughts of the God of Israel. We should not be afraid or ashamed to embrace every opportunity to spea of God, and to impress others with a deep sense of the importance of his favour and service. Now that the people of Israel kept close to the law and worship of God, the neighbouring nations were willing to be taught by them in the true religion, as the Israelites had been willin in the days of their apostacy, to be infected with the idolatries an superstitions of their neighbours. A wise and pious king is an evidenc of the Lord's special love for his people. How great then was God' love to his believing people, in giving his only-begotten Son to be their Prince and their Saviour __________________________________________________________________
