VERSE (1) -
De 6:5; 10:12; 30:16-20 Ps 116:1

SEV Biblia, Chapter 11:1

¶ Amarás, pues, al SEÑOR tu Dios, y guardarás su ordenanza, y sus estatutos y sus derechos y sus mandamientos, todos los días.

Clarke's Bible Commentary - Deuteronomy 11:1

Verse 1. Thou shalt
love the Lord] Because without this there could be no obedience to the Divine testimonies, and no happiness in the soul; for the heart that is destitute of the love of God, is empty of all good, and consequently miserable. See the note on "chap. x. 12".

John Gill's Bible Commentary

Ver. 1. Therefore thou shalt
love the Lord thy God , etc.] Because he is so great and glorious in himself, and because he had done such great and good things for them, the Israelites, particularly in the multiplication of them, the last thing mentioned: and keep his charge ; whatsoever the Lord had charged them to observe, even what follow: and his statutes and his judgments, and his commandments, alway ; all his laws, ceremonial, judicial, and moral; and that constantly and continually, all the days of their lives.

Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 1-7 - Observe the connexion of these two; Thou shalt
love the Lord, and kee his charge. Love will work in obedience, and that only is acceptabl obedience which flows from a principle of love, 1Jo 5:3. Moses recount some of the great and terrible works of God which their eyes had seen What our eyes have seen, especially in our early days, should affec us, and make us better long afterwards.
