SEV Biblia, Chapter 19:10
¶ Tu madre fue como una vid en tu sangre, plantada junto a las aguas, haciendo fruto y echando vástagos a causa de las muchas aguas.
Clarke's Bible Commentary - Ezekiel 19:10
Verse 10. Thy mother (Jerusalem) is like a vine in thy blood] Of this expression I know not what to make. Some think the meaning is "A vine planted by the waters to produce the blood of the grape." See Deut. xxxii. 14. Others, for ûmdb bedamecha, in thy blood, would read wmrb berimmon, in or at a pomegranate; like a vine planted by or beside a pomegranate- tree, by which it was to be supported. And so the Septuagint and Arabic appear to have read. Calmet reads ûmrk carmecha, thy vineyard, instead of ûmdb bedamecha, in thy blood. Here is no change but a r resh for a d daleth. This reading is supported by one of Kennicott's and one of De Rossi's MSS.: "Thy mother is like a vine in thy vineyard, planted by the waters." Though this is rather an unusual construction yet it seems the best emendation. Of the textual reading no sense can be made. There is a corruption somewhere. Full on branches] Many princes. See next verse.
Matthew Henry Commentary
A parable lamenting the ruin of Jehoahaz and Jehoiakim. (Ezek. 19:1-9 Another describing the desolation of the people. (Ezek. 19:10-14)
Ezek. 19:1-9 Ezekiel is to compare the kingdom of Judah to a lioness He must compare the kings of Judah to a lion's whelps; they were crue and oppressive to their own subjects. The righteousness of God is to be acknowledged, when those who have terrified and enslaved others, ar themselves terrified and enslaved. When professors of religion for connexions with ungodly persons, their children usually grow u following after the maxims and fashions of a wicked world. Advancemen to authority discovers the ambition and selfishness of men's hearts and those who spend their lives in mischief, generally end them by violence.
Ezek. 19:10-14 Jerusalem was a vine, flourishing and fruitful. Thi vine is now destroyed, though not plucked up by the roots. She has by wickedness made herself like tinder to the sparks of God's wrath, s that her own branches serve as fuel to burn her. Blessed be God, on Branch of the vine here alluded to, is not only become a strong rod for the sceptre of those that rule, but is Himself the true and livin Vine. This shall be for a rejoicing to all the chosen people of God throughout all generations __________________________________________________________________
