SEV Biblia, Chapter 19:10
Y el que recogió las cenizas de la vaca, lavará sus vestidos, y será inmundo hasta la tarde; y será a los hijos de Israel, y al extranjero que mora entre ellos, por estatuto perpetuo.
John Gill's Bible Commentary
Ver. 10. And he that gathereth the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes , etc.] Whom the Targum of Jonathan calls a priest, though it does not seem necessary he should be one: and be unclean until the even ; (see Gill on “ Numbers 19:7”); and it shall be unto the children of Israel, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among them, for a statute for ever ; until the Messiah came, whose sufferings and death are for the expiation of, and purification for the sins of Jews and Gentiles, of all the people of God throughout the world, signified by the burning of this heifer; (see 1 John 2:2).
Matthew Henry Commentary
Verses 1-10 - The heifer was to be wholly burned. This typified the painfu sufferings of our Lord Jesus, both in soul and body, as a sacrific made by fire, to satisfy God's justice for man's sin. These ashes ar said to be laid up as a purification for sin, because, though they wer only to purify from ceremonial uncleanness, yet they were a type of that purification for sin which our Lord Jesus made by his death. The blood of Christ is laid up for us in the word and sacraments, as fountain of merit, to which by faith we may have constant recourse, for cleansing our consciences.
