Early Christian Commentary - (A.D. 100 - A.D. 325) Anf-01 ix.vii.ix Pg 12 Lev. xi. 2; Deut. xiv. 3, etc. whatsoever of these, says [the Scripture], have a double hoof and ruminate, it proclaims as clean; but whatsoever of them do not possess one or other of these [properties], it sets aside by themselves as unclean. Who then are the clean? Those who make their way by faith steadily towards the Father and the Son; for this is denoted by the steadiness of those which divide the hoof; and they meditate day and night upon the words of God,4503 4503
Anf-01 vi.ii.x Pg 2 Cod. Sin. has “portion,” corrected, however, as above. See Lev. xi. and Deut. xiv. He embraced three doctrines in his mind [in doing so]. Moreover, the Lord saith to them in Deuteronomy, “And I will establish my ordinances among this people.”1576 1576
