Jud 20:47 Jos 15:32

SEV Biblia, Chapter 21:13

Toda la congregación envió luego a hablar a los hijos de Benjamín que estaban en la peña de Rimón, y los llamaron en paz.

Clarke's Bible Commentary - Judges 21:13

Verse 13. And to call peaceably unto them.] To
proclaim peace to them; to assure them that the enmity was all over, and that they might with safety leave their strong hold.

John Gill's Bible Commentary

Ver. 13. And the whole
congregation sent some to speak to the children of Benjamin , etc.] Sent some messengers to them, to call them, and desire them to come to them: that were in the rock Rimmon ; the six hundred men who had hid themselves in a cave in it, of which the people of Israel were informed: and to call peaceably unto them ; to proclaim peace to them, and assure them of it, and to let them know that they had no ill design against them, that they might come safely to them, and would be kindly received and protected by them.

Matthew Henry Commentary

The Israelites lament for the Benjamites.

--Israel lamented for the Benjamites, and were perplexed by the oat they had taken, not to give their daughters to them in marriage. Me are more zealous to support their own authority than that of God. The would have acted better if they had repented of their rash oaths brought sin-offerings, and sought forgiveness in the appointed way rather than attempt to avoid the guilt of perjury by actions quite a wrong. That men can advise others to acts of treachery or violence, ou of a sense of duty, forms a strong proof of the blindness of the huma mind when left to itself, and of the fatal effects of a conscienc under ignorance and error __________________________________________________________________
