King James Bible - Leviticus 13:20

And if, when the priest seeth it, behold, it be in sight lower than the skin, and the hair thereof be turned white; the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is a plague of leprosy broken out of the boil.

World English Bible

and the priest shall examine it; and behold, if its appearance is lower than the skin, and its hair has turned white, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is the plague of leprosy. It has broken out in the boil.

Douay-Rheims - Leviticus 13:20

And when he shall see the place of the leprosy lower than the other flesh, and the hair turned white, he shall declare him unclean, for the plague of leprosy is broken out in the ulcer.

Webster's Bible Translation

And if, when the priest seeth it, behold, it is in sight lower than the skin, and the hair of it is turned white; the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is a plague of leprosy broken out of the boil.

SEV Biblia, Chapter 13:20

y el sacerdote mirará; y si pareciere estar más baja que su piel, y su pelo se hubiere vuelto blanco, lo dará el sacerdote por inmundo; es llaga de lepra que se originó en la postema.

John Gill's Bible Commentary

Ver. 20. And if, when the
priest seeth it , etc.] And has thoroughly viewed it and considered it: behold, it [be] in sight lower than the skin ; having eaten into and taken root in the flesh under the skin: and the hair thereof be turned white ; which are the signs of leprosy before given, ( Leviticus 13:3); the priest shall pronounce him unclean ; not fit for company and conversation, but obliged to conform to the laws concerning leprosy: it is a plague of leprosy broken out of the boil ; which was there before: this is an emblem of apostates and apostasy, who having been seemingly healed and cleansed, return to their former course of life, and to all the impurity of it, like the dog to its vomit, and the swine to its wallowing in the mire, ( Proverbs 26:11 2 Peter 2:22); and so their last state is worse than the first, ( Matthew 12:45 Luke 11:26), as in this case; at first it was a boil, and then thought to be cured, and afterwards arises out of it a plague of leprosy.

Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 18-44 - The
priest is told what judgment to make, if there were any appearanc of a leprosy in old sores; and such is the danger of those who havin escaped the pollutions of the world are again entangled therein. Or, in a burn by accident, ver. #(24). The burning of strife and contentio often occasions the rising and breaking out of that corruption, whic proves that men are unclean. Human life lies exposed to man grievances. With what troops of diseases are we beset on every side and thy all entered by sin! If the constitution be healthy, and the body lively and easy, we are bound to glorify God with our bodies Particular note was taken of the leprosy, if in the head. If the leprosy of sin has seized the head; if the judgment be corrupted, an wicked principles, which support wicked practices, are embraced, it is utter uncleanness, from which few are cleansed. Soundness in the fait keeps leprosy from the head.
