Ne 1:3 Jer 5:10; 39:8; 52:14-23

SEV Biblia, Chapter 25:10

Y todo el ejército de los caldeos que estaba con el capitán de la guardia, derribó los muros de Jerusalén alrededor.

Clarke's Bible Commentary - 2 Kings 25:10

Verse 10. Brake down the walls] In the same fifth month, Jer. i. 3, the walls of
Jerusalem being razed to the ground, all that were left in the city, and all that had fled over formerly to Nebuchadnezzar, and all the common people of the city, with all the king's treasures, those of the nobles, and the whole furniture of the temple, did Nebuzar-adan carry off to Babylon. See Jeremiah xxxix. 8, 9; lii. 14, 23. And thus was Judah carried away out of her own land, four hundred and sixty-eight years after David began to reign over it; from the division of the ten tribes three hundred and eighty-eight years; and from the destruction of the kingdom of Israel, one hundred and thirty-four years; A.M. 3416, and before Christ five hundred and ninety. And thus ends what is called the fifth age of the world. See USHER'S Annals.

Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 8-21 - The city and
temple were burnt, and, it is probable, the ark in it. By this, God showed how little he cares for the outward pomp of his worship, when the life and power of religion are neglected. The wall of Jerusalem were thrown down, and the people carried captive to Babylon. The vessels of the temple were carried away. When the thing signified were sinned away, what should the signs stand there for? It was righteous with God to deprive those of the benefit of his worship who had preferred false worships before it; those that would have man altars, now shall have none. As the Lord spared not the angels tha sinned, as he doomed the whole race of fallen men to the grave, and all unbelievers to hell, and as he spared not his own Son, but delivere him up for us all, we need not wonder at any miseries he may bring upo guilty nations, churches, or persons.
