The rivers will become foul. The streams of Egypt will be diminished and dried up. The reeds and flags will wither away.

Douay-Rheims - Isaiah 19:6

And the rivers shall fail: the streams of the banks shall be diminished, and be dried up. The reed and the bulrush shall wither away.

Isa 37:25 2Ki 19:24

SEV Biblia, Chapter 19:6

Y se alejarán los ríos; se agotarán y secarán las corrientes de los fosos; la caña y el carrizo serán destruidos.

Clarke's Bible Commentary - Isaiah 19:6

Verse 6. Shall turn the
rivers far away "Shall become putrid"] wjynzah heeznichu. This sense of the word, which Simonis gives in his Lexicon, from the meaning of it in Arabic, suits the place much better than any other interpretation hitherto given; and that the word in Hebrew had some such signification, is probable from2 Chron. xxix. 19, where the Vulgate renders it by polluit, polluted, and the Targum, by profaned, and made abominable, which the context in that place seems plainly to require.

The form of the verb here is very irregular; and the rabbins and grammarians seem to give no probable account of it.

Matthew Henry Commentary
Judgments upon Egypt. (Is. 19:1-17) Its deliverance, and the conversio of the people. (Is. 19:18-25)

Is. 19:1-17 God shall come into Egypt with his judgments. He will rais up the causes of their destruction from among themselves. When ungodl men escape danger, they are apt to think themselves secure; but evi pursues sinners, and will speedily overtake them, except they repent The Egyptians will be given over into the hand of one who shall rul them with rigour, as was shortly after fulfilled. The Egyptians wer renowned for wisdom and science; yet the Lord would give them up to their own perverse schemes, and to quarrel, till their land would be brought by their contests to become an object of contempt and pity. He renders sinners afraid of those whom they have despised and oppressed and the Lord of hosts will make the workers of iniquity a terror to themselves, and to each other; and every object around a terror to them.

Is. 19:18-25 The words, "In that day," do not always refer to the passage just before. At a time which was to come, the Egyptians shal speak the holy language, the Scripture language; not only understan it, but use it. Converting grace, by changing the heart, changes the language; for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. S many Jews shall come to Egypt, that they shall soon fill five cities Where the sun was worshipped, a place infamous for idolatry, even ther shall be a wonderful reformation. Christ, the great Altar, wh sanctifies every gift, shall be owned, and the gospel sacrifices of prayer and praise shall be offered up. Let the broken-hearted an afflicted, whom the Lord has wounded, and thus taught to return to, an call upon him, take courage; for He will heal their souls, and tur their sorrowing supplications into joyful praises. The Gentile nation shall not only unite with each other in the gospel fold under Christ the great Shepherd, but they shall all be united with the Jews. The shall be owned together by him; they shall all share in one and the same blessing. Meeting at the same throne of grace, and serving with each other in the same business of religion, should end all disputes and unite the hearts of believers to each other in holy love __________________________________________________________________
