Treasury of Scriptural Knowledge VERSE (30) - Nu 3:30 1Ch 15:8
SEV Biblia, Chapter 3:30 y el príncipe de la casa del padre de las familias de Coat, Elizafán hijo de Uziel.
John Gill's Bible Commentary Ver. 30. And the chief of the house of the father of the families of the Kohathites [shall be] Elizaphan the son of Uzziel .] The same man, who, with his brother Mishael, carried Nadab and Abihu out of the camp, and buried them, ( Leviticus 10:4,5); he descended from the last and youngest of the families of the Kohathites; and some think this was one reason at least of Korah’s dissatisfaction, and of his entering into a conspiracy against Moses and Aaron, because one of a younger family of his house was preferred to this dignity before him.
Matthew Henry Commentary Verses 14-39 - The Levites were in three classes, according to the sons of Levi Gershon, Kohath, and Merari; and these were subdivided into families The posterity of Moses were not at all honoured or privileged, but stood upon the level with other Levites; thus it was plain, that Mose did not seek the advancement of his own family, or to secure an honours to it. The tribe of Levi was by much the least of all the tribes. God's chosen are but a little flock in comparison with the world.
