for the devil did God erect in the person of that hero! What a banner did He rear over the enemy of His glory, when, at every bitter message, that man uttered nothing out of his mouth but thanks to God, while he denounced his wife, now quite wearied with ills, and urging him to resort to crooked remedies! Furthermore, what saith He in reference to the Son? “His water is sure;1598 1598 Cod. Sin. entirely omits the question given above, and joins “the water is sure” to the former sentence.
ye shall see the King in His glory, and your soul shall meditate on the fear of the Lord.”1599
