SEV Biblia, Chapter 29:29

Y los hechos del rey David, primeros y postreros, están escritos en el libro de las crónicas de Samuel vidente, y en las crónicas del profeta Natán, y en las crónicas de Gad vidente,

Clarke's Bible Commentary - 1 Chronicles 29:29

Verse 29. The acts of David-first and last] Those which concerned him in private life, as well as those which grew out of his regal
government. All these were written by three eminent men, personally acquainted with him through the principal part of his life; these were Samuel and Gad the seers, and Nathan the prophet. These writings are all lost, except the particulars interspersed in the books of Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles, none of which are the records mentioned here.

John Gill's Bible Commentary

Ver. 29. Now the acts of
David the king, first and last , etc.] All that he did that was memorable, both before he was king, and when king in Hebron, and then in Jerusalem: behold, they are written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer ; which were journals of his life and actions, begun by Samuel, and carried on by Nathan and Gad; out of which what is recorded in canonical Scripture was taken by divine direction, and preserved, while other writings are lost; or rather the book of Samuel designs the first book of Samuel, and the books of Nathan and Gad the second book of Samuel, by whom it was written.

Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 26-30 - When we read the second book of Samuel, we could scarcely have expecte to behold
David appear so illustrious in his closing scene. But his repentance had been as remarkable as his sin; and his conduct durin his afflictions, and towards the end of his life, appears to have had good effect on his subjects. Blessed be God, even the chief of sinner may hope for a glorious departure, when brought to repent and flee for refuge to the Saviour's atoning blood. Let us mark the differenc between the spirit and character of the man after God's own heart living and dying, and those of worthless professors, who resemble his in nothing but their sins, and who wickedly try to excuse their crime by his sins. Let us watch and pray, lest we be overcome by temptation and overtaken by sin, to the dishonour of God, and the wounding of ou own consciences. When we feel that we have offended, let us follo David's example of repentance and patience, looking for a glorious resurrection, through our Lord Jesus Christ __________________________________________________________________
