Y los criados de los príncipes de las provincias salieron los primeros. Y Ben-adad había enviado quien le dio aviso, diciendo: Varones han salido de Samaria.

Ver. 17. And the young men of the princes of the provinces went out first , etc.] From Samaria, before the 7000 did: and Benhadad sent out ; of his pavilion, a messenger or messengers to his sentinels, to know what news, and how matters stood, whether Ahab had sent any message, signifying his compliance with his terms: and they told him, saying, there are men come out of Samaria ; but upon what account they could not say.
Matthew Henry Commentary
Verses 12-21 - The proud Syrians were beaten, and the despised Israelites wer conquerors. The orders of the proud, drunken king disordered his troops, and prevented them from attacking the Israelites. Those tha are most secure, are commonly least courageous. Ahab slew the Syrian with a great slaughter. God often makes one wicked man a scourge to another.
