SEV Biblia, Chapter 9:6
Y él se levantó, y se entró en casa; y el otro derramó el aceite sobre su cabeza, y le dijo: Así dijo el SEÑOR Dios de Israel: Yo te he ungido por rey sobre el pueblo del SEÑOR, sobre Israel.
Clarke's Bible Commentary - 2 Kings 9:6
Verse 6. King over the people of the Lord] This pointed out to Jehu that he was to rule that people according to God's law; and consequently, that he was to restore the pure worship of the Most High in Israel.
John Gill's Bible Commentary
Ver. 6. And he arose, and went into the house , etc.] Into the inner chamber in it: and he poured the oil on his head, and said unto him, thus saith the Lord God of Israel, I have anointed thee king over the people of the Lord, even over Israel ; for though they were fallen into idolatry, and from the pure worship of God, yet the Lord had still a right unto them, and as yet he had not wrote a “Loammi” ( Hosea 1:9) upon them; and there were many among them which had not bowed the knee to Baal.
Matthew Henry Commentary
Verses 1-10 - In these and the like events, we must acknowledge the secret working of God, disposing men to fulfil his purposes respecting them. Jehu wa anointed king over Israel, by the Lord's special choice. The Lord stil had a remnant of his people, and would yet preserve his worship amon them. Of this Jehu was reminded. He was commanded to destroy the hous of Ahab, and, as far as he acted in obedience to God, and upon righ principles, he needed not to regard reproach or opposition. The murde of God's prophets is strongly noticed. Jezebel persisted in idolatr and enmity to Jehovah and his servants, and her iniquity was now full.
