SEV Biblia, Chapter 9:12
Y dijo el rey a la reina Ester: En Susa, capital del reino, los judíos han matado y destruido a quinientos hombres, y a diez hijos de Amán; ¿qué habrán hecho en las otras provincias del rey? ¿Cuál pues es tu petición, y te será concedida? ¿Y qué más es tu demanda, y será hecho?

Ver. 12. And the king said unto Esther the queen , etc.] After the account had been brought in to him: the Jews have slain and destroyed five hundred men in Shushan the palace ; the Targum adds, of the seed of Amalek: and the ten sons of Haman : which very probably were all he had; though the Targum, in ( Esther 9:14), makes mention of seventy sons that Zeresh his wife fled with: what have they done in the rest of the king’s provinces ? that could not be said; but it might be concluded, that if so many were slain in Shushan, the number must be great in all the provinces: now what is thy petition and it shall be granted thee : or “what is thy request further? and it shall be done”; if this was not sufficient and satisfactory, whatever else she should ask for should be granted.
Matthew Henry Commentary
Verses 1-19 - The enemies of the Jews hoped to have power over them by the forme edict. If they had attempted nothing against the people of God, the would not themselves have suffered. The Jews, acting together strengthened one another. Let us learn to stand fast in one spirit, an with one mind, striving together against the enemies of our souls, wh endeavour to rob us of our faith, which is more precious than ou lives. The Jews, to the honour of their religion, showed contempt of wordly wealth, that they might make it appear they desired nothin except their own preservation. In every case the people of God shoul manifest humanity and disinterestedness, frequently refusing advantage which might lawfully be obtained. The Jews celebrated their festiva the day after they had finished their work. When we have received grea mercies from God, we ought to be speedy in making thankful returns to him.
