SEV Biblia, Chapter 44:2
Y me dijo el SEÑOR: Esta puerta estará cerrada; no se abrirá, ni entrará por ella hombre, porque el SEÑOR Dios de Israel entró por ella; y será cerrada.
Clarke's Bible Commentary - Ezekiel 44:2
Verse 2. This gate shall be shut] It was not to be opened on ordinary occasions, nor at all on the week days: but only on the Sabbaths and the new moons. See the account of the gates (4) in the explanation of the plan. This verse has been adduced by the Roman Catholics to prove the perpetual virginity of the mother of our Lord; and it may be allowed to be as much to the purpose as any other that has been brought to prove this very precarious point, on which no stress should ever be laid by any man.
Mary was a virgin when she brought forth Jesus.
Matthew Henry Commentary
This chapter contains ordinances relative to the true priests. The prince evidently means Christ, and the words in Ezek. 44:2, may remin us that no other can enter heaven, the true sanctuary, as Christ did namely, by virtue of his own excellency, and his personal holiness righteousness, and strength. He who is the Brightness of Jehovah' glory entered by his own holiness; but that way is shut to the whol human race, and we all must enter as sinners, by faith in his blood and by the power of his grace __________________________________________________________________
