SEV Biblia, Chapter 44:17
¶ Y será que cuando entraren por las puertas del atrio interior, se vestirán de vestimentas de lino; no asentará sobre ellos lana, cuando ministraren en las puertas del atrio de adentro, y en el interior.
Clarke's Bible Commentary - Ezekiel 44:17
Verse 17. No wool shall come upon them] The reason is plain; wool is more apt than linen to contract dirt and breed insects; linen breeds none; besides, this is a vegetable, and the other an animal substance. It was an ancient maxim, that whatever was taken from a dead body was impure in matters of religion, and should not be permitted to enter intto the temple. The Egyptian priests always wore linen on their bodies, and shoes of matting or rushes on their feet. The Mohammedans never write the Koran upon vellum or skin of any kind, as they would consider that as a defilement.
Matthew Henry Commentary
This chapter contains ordinances relative to the true priests. The prince evidently means Christ, and the words in Ezek. 44:2, may remin us that no other can enter heaven, the true sanctuary, as Christ did namely, by virtue of his own excellency, and his personal holiness righteousness, and strength. He who is the Brightness of Jehovah' glory entered by his own holiness; but that way is shut to the whol human race, and we all must enter as sinners, by faith in his blood and by the power of his grace __________________________________________________________________
