VERSE (21) -
:18 Ex 21:33

SEV Biblia, Chapter 24:21

El que hiere algún animal, ha de restituirlo; mas el que hiere de muerte a un hombre, que muera.

John Gill's Bible Commentary

Ver. 21. And he that killeth a
beast, he shall restore it , etc.] The same as in ( Leviticus 24:18), which is repeated for the confirmation of it, and that it might be observed, though Jarchi takes it to be a different law; before, he says, it speaks of him that kills a beast, here of him that makes any wound or bruise in it, which he must make good; and it must be allowed that the manner of expression is different; there it is, he that smites the soul of a beast so that it dies, here only he that smites a beast, though it dies not, yet having some damage done it, satisfaction must be made: and he that killeth a man, he shall be put to death ; or he that smites a man, though he does not kill him, as Jarchi observes, only makes a wound or bruise in him, because it is not said, the soul of a man, as before; but such damages did not require death, but satisfaction in another way, as in ( Leviticus 24:19).

Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 10-23 - This offender was the son of an Egyptian
father, and an Israelitis mother. The notice of his parents shows the common ill effect of mixe marriages. A standing law for the stoning of blasphemers was made upo this occasion. Great stress is laid upon this law. It extends to the strangers among them, as well as to those born in the land. Strangers as well as native Israelites, should be entitled to the benefit of the law, so as not to suffer wrong; and should be liable to the penalty of this law, in case they did wrong. If those who profane the name of God escape punishment from men, yet the Lord our God will not suffer the to escape his righteous judgments. What enmity against God must be in the heart of man, when blasphemies against God proceed out of his mouth. If he that despised Moses' law, died without mercy, of what punishment will they be worthy, who despise and abuse the gospel of the Son of God! Let us watch against anger, do no evil, avoid all connexions with wicked people, and reverence that holy name whic sinners blaspheme __________________________________________________________________
