SEV Biblia, Chapter 24:4
Después de esto aconteció que Joás tuvo voluntad de reparar la Casa del SEÑOR.
Clarke's Bible Commentary - 2 Chronicles 24:4
Verse 4. To repair the house of the Lord.] During the reigns of Joram and Athaliah, the temple of God had been pillaged to enrich that of Baal, and the whole structure permitted to fall into decay; see ver. 7.
John Gill's Bible Commentary
Ver. 4. And it came to pass after this , etc.] After his marriage, when he was about twenty or twenty one years of age, perhaps: that Joash was minded to repair the house of the Lord ; which in some places might be fallen to decay, having been built one hundred and fifty years or more, and in others defaced by Athaliah, and needed ornamenting, (see 2 Kings 12:4).
Matthew Henry Commentary
Verses 1-14 - Joash is more zealous about the repair of the temple than Jehoiad himself. It is easier to build temples, than to be temples to God. But the repairing of places for public worship is a good work, which all should promote. And many a good work would be done that now lie undone, if active men would put it forward.
