SEV Biblia, Chapter 23:25
¶ No hubo tal rey antes de él que así se convirtiese al SEÑOR de todo su corazón, y de toda su alma, y de todas su fuerzas, conforme a toda la ley de Moisés; ni después de él nació otro tal.
Clarke's Bible Commentary - 2 Kings 23:25
Verse 25. Like unto him was there no king] Perhaps not one from the time of David; and, morally considered, including David himself, none ever sat on the Jewish throne, so truly exemplary in his own conduct, and so thoroughly zealous in the work of God. David was a greater but not a better man than Josiah.
John Gill's Bible Commentary
Ver. 25. And like unto him was there no king before him , etc.] The same is said of Hezekiah, ( 2 Kings 18:5), Hezekiah might excel him in some things, as Josiah might excel Hezekiah in others: that turned to the Lord with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might ; with such sincerity, heartiness, zeal, and constancy: according to all the law of Moses ; having respect to every commandment, especially relative to worship, with the greatest precision and exactness: neither after him arose there any like him ; for all to the captivity were wicked princes.
Matthew Henry Commentary
Verses 25-30 - Upon reading these verses, we must say, Lord, though thy righteousnes be as the great mountains, evident, plainly to be seen, and pas dispute; yet thy judgments are a great deep, unfathomable, and pas finding out. The reforming king is cut off in the midst of his usefulness, in mercy to him, that he might not see the evil coming upo his kingdom: but in wrath to his people, for his death was an inlet to their desolations. (2Ki 23:31-37)
