King James Bible - Job 16:6

Though I speak, my grief is not asswaged: and though I forbear, what am I eased?

World English Bible

"Though I speak, my grief is not subsided. Though I forbear, what am I eased?

Douay-Rheims - Job 16:6

I would strengthen you with my mouth, and would move my lips, as sparing you.

Webster's Bible Translation

Though I speak, my grief is not assuaged: and though I forbear, what am I eased?

VERSE (6) -
Job 10:1 Ps 77:1-9; 88:15-18

SEV Biblia, Chapter 16:6

ΒΆ Mas si hablo, mi dolor no cesa; y si dejo de hablar , no se aparta de mí.

Clarke's Bible Commentary - Job 16:6

Verse 6. Though I speak ] But it will be of no avail thus to speak; for reprehensions of your
conduct will not serve to mitigate my sufferings.

Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 6-16 - Here is a doleful representation of Job's grievances. What reason we have to
bless God, that we are not making such complaints! Even goo men, when in great troubles, have much ado not to entertain har thoughts of God. Eliphaz had represented Job as unhumbled under his affliction: No, says Job, I know better things; the dust is now the fittest place for me. In this he reminds us of Christ, who was a man of sorrows, and pronounced those blessed that mourn, for they shall be comforted.
