King James Bible - Job 32:16

When I had waited, (for they spake not, but stood still, and answered no more;)

World English Bible

Shall I wait, because they don't speak, because they stand still, and answer no more?

Douay-Rheims - Job 32:16

Therefore because I have waited, and they have not spoken : they stood, and answered no more :

Webster's Bible Translation

When I had waited, (for they spoke not, but stood still, and answered no more;)

Job 13:5 Pr 17:28 Am 5:13 Jas 1:19

SEV Biblia, Chapter 32:16

Y yo esperé, porque no hablaban, antes pararon, y no respondieron más.

Clarke's Bible Commentary - Job 32:16

Verse 16. When I had waited ] I waited to hear if they had any thing to reply to Job; and when I found them in effect speechless, then I ventured to come forward.

Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 15-22 - If we are sure that the Spirit of
God suggested what we are about to say, still we ought to refrain, till it comes to our turn to speak. God is the God of order, not of confusion. It is great refreshment to good man, to speak for the glory of the Lord, and to edify others. An the more we consider the majesty of God, as our Maker, and the more we dread his wrath and justice, the less shall we sinfully fear or flatte men. Could we set the wrathe Lord always before us, in his mercies an his terrors, we should not be moved from doing our duty in whatever we are called to do __________________________________________________________________
