SEV Biblia, Chapter 12:37 Y a la puerta de la Fuente, y delante de ellos, subieron por las gradas de la ciudad de David, por la subida del muro, desde la casa de David hasta la puerta de las Aguas al oriente.
John Gill's Bible Commentary Ver. 37. And at the fountain gate, which was over against them , etc.] Of which (see Nehemiah 2:14) and which was to the south of the dung gate: they went up ; that is, one of the two companies, that which took to the right on the wall, ( Nehemiah 12:31) with which these words are to be connected: by the stairs of the city of David ; which went up to the city of Zion, built on an eminence: at the going up of the wall, above the house of David ; where the wall was higher, and there was an ascent to it: even unto the water gate eastward ; of which (see Nehemiah 3:26 8:16) turning from the south to the east, and so drew nigh the temple.
Matthew Henry Commentary Verses 27-43 - All our cities, all our houses, must have holiness to the Lord writte upon them. The believer should undertake nothing which he does no dedicate to the Lord. We are concerned to cleanse our hands, and purif our hearts, when any work for God is to pass through them. Those tha would be employed to sanctify others, must sanctify themselves, and se themselves apart for God. To those who are sanctified, all their creature-comforts and enjoyments are made holy. The people greatl rejoiced. All that share in public mercies, ought to join in publi thanksgivings.
