SEV Biblia, Chapter 86:2 Guarda mi alma, porque soy misericordioso; salva tú, oh Dios mío, a tu siervo que en ti confía.
Clarke's Bible Commentary - Psalms 85:2 Verse 2. Preserve my soul ] Keep it as in a strong place. For I am holy ] yna dyj yk ki chasid ani, for I am merciful. The spirit of this prayer is, "The mercy I to others show, That mercy show to me!" Save thy servant - I have long taken thee as my Master and Lord; I receive the word from thy mouth, and obey thee.
Verses 1-7 - Our poverty and wretchedness, when felt, powerfully plead in our behal at the throne of grace. The best self-preservation is to commi ourselves to God's keeping. I am one whom thou favourest, hast se apart for thyself, and made partaker of sanctifying grace. It is great encouragement to prayer, to feel that we have received the converting grace of God, have learned to trust in him, and to be his servants. We may expect comfort from God, when we keep up our communio with God. God's goodness appears in two things, in giving an forgiving. Whatever others do, let us call upon God, and commit ou case to him; we shall not seek in vain.
