SEV Biblia, Chapter 19:22
Y enviando a Macedonia a dos de los que le ayudaban, Timoteo y Erasto, l se estuvo por algn tiempo en Asia.
Clarke's Bible Commentary - Acts 19:22
Verse 22. So he sent into Macedonia] He desired Timothy to go as far as Corinth, 1 Cor. iv. 18, and after that to return to him at Ephesus, 1 Cor. xvi. 11; but he himself continued in Asia some time longer; probably to make collections for the poor saints in Jerusalem. Erastus, mentioned here for the first time, appears to have been the chamberlain, oikonomov, either of Ephesus or Corinth; see Rom. xvi. 23. He was one of St. Paul's companions, and is mentioned as being left by the apostle at Corinth, 2 Tim. iv. 20.
John Gill's Bible Commentary
Ver. 22. So he sent into Macedonia , etc.] To Philippi, or Thessalonica, or Berea, or some of the places there, to let them know of his coming, and to prepare for him: two of them that ministered unto him ; that were his assistants in preaching the Gospel: Timotheus and Erastus ; the former of these was a disciple he found at Lystra, and took along with him, and to whom he afterwards wrote two epistles; and the latter seems to be the same with him, who was chamberlain of the city of Corinth, and is said to abide there, ( Romans 16:23, 2 Timothy 4:20) The Ethiopic version, instead of Erastus, wrongly reads Aristarchus; whereas it is certain, he was not sent into Macedonia, but was with the apostle at Ephesus in the tumult, ( Acts 19:29). But he himself stayed in Asia for a season ; that is, at Ephesus, as the following narration shows.
Matthew Henry Commentary
Verses 21-31 - Persons who came from afar to pay their devotions at the temple of Ephesus, bought little silver shrines, or models of the temple, to carry home with them. See how craftsmen make advantage to themselves of people's superstition, and serve their worldly ends by it. Men ar jealous for that by which they get their wealth; and many se themselves against the gospel of Christ, because it calls men from all unlawful crafts, however much wealth is to be gotten by them. There ar persons who will stickle for what is most grossly absurd, unreasonable and false; as this, that those are gods which are made with hands, i it has but worldly interest on its side. The whole city was full of confusion, the common and natural effect of zeal for false religion Zeal for the honour of Christ, and love to the brethren, encourag zealous believers to venture into danger. Friends will often be raise up among those who are strangers to true religion, but have observe the honest and consistent behaviour of Christians.

Robertson's NT Word Studies
19:22 {Timothy and Erastus} (timoqeon kai eraston). Paul had sent Timothy to Corinth (#1Co 4:17) and had requested kindly treatment of this young minister in his difficult task of placating the divided church (#1Co 16:10-11) that he might return to Paul as he evidently had before Paul leaves Ephesus. He qen despatched Titus to Corinth to finish what Timothy had not quite succeeded in doing with instructions to meet him in Troas. Now Timothy and Erastus (cf. #Ro 16:23; 2Ti 4:20) go on to Macedonia to prepare the way for Paul who will come on later. {He himself stayed in Asia for a while} (autos epescen cronon eis ten asian). Literally, He himself had additional time in Asia. Second aorist active indicative of epecw, old and common idiom, only here in the N.T. in this sense and the verb only in Luke and Paul. The reason for Paul's delay is given by him in #1Co 16:8f., the great door wide open in Ephesus. Here again Luke and Paul supplement each other. Pentecost came towards the end of May and May was the month of the festival of Artemis (Diana) when great multitudes would come to Ephesus. But he did not remain till Pentecost as both Luke and Paul make plain.
